Cheddar Jalapeño Bacon Sandwich

Ingredients

  • For the chicken
  • 2 cups cooking oil

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts

  • 1/2 cup flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt, divided

  • ½ teaspoon pepper, divided

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce

  • 2 cups breadcrumbs

  • For the sandwich
  • 3-4 burger buns

  • 3-4 slices green leaf lettuce

  • 1 beefsteak tomato, thinly sliced

  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced

Directions

  • Add the oil to a large, deep skillet. Turn to medium heat and allow to heat to 350°F.
  • Place the flour, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon pepper in a shallow bowl. In a second shallow bowl mix the egg and hot sauce. In a third shallow bowl mix the breadcrumbs with the remaining salt and pepper.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  • When the oil is heated fry each piece of chicken individually for 3-5 minutes per side until internal temperature 165°F is reached. Set aside on a paper towel lined plate to drain.
  • Assemble the sandwiches. Place lettuce, tomato, and onion on the bottom bun. Add a chicken breast and top generously with Good Foods Creamy Cheddar Jalapeño with Uncured Bacon Dip. Finish with the top bun.
