Tostones with Chunky Guacamole
Crispy, golden tostones make the perfect pairing for Good Foods Chunky Guacamole. Twice‑fried plantains are seasoned simply with salt, then served hot with fresh cilantro and lime. A quick, flavorful appetizer or snack that serves 4 and comes together in just over 10 minutes of cook time.

Instructions
Tostones with Chunky Guacamole:
- Heat oil to 325°F in a large cast-iron skillet. Peel the plantains by trimming off the ends and then carefully slicing through the skin lengthwise without cutting the fl esh. Remove the peel, and cut the plantains crosswise into 1-inch pieces.
- Working in batches, fry plantains, fl ipping occasionally until fork-tender, about 7-8 minutes. Transfer fried plantains, using a slotted spoon, to a paper-towel-lined plate.
- Using a tostonera (plantain press), tortilla press or bottom of a glass cup, smash each plantain until 1/4-inch-thick.
- Increase oil temperature to 350°F. Working in batches, fry fl attened plantains, fl ipping occasionally until golden-brown, about 2-3 minutes. Transfer tostones, using a slotted spoon, back to the paper-towel-lined plate. Season with salt, to taste.
- Garnish tostones with cilantro, and serve with Good Foods Chunky Guacamole.
