Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter, divided

  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 4 slices sourdough bread

  • 1 pkg Good Foods Caramelized Onion Gruyere Dip

  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese

  • 1/2 cup fig jam

Directions

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add onions and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft, golden, and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Meanwhile, layer Good Foods Caramelized Onion Gruyere Dip, Gruyere, and caramelized onions on sourdough. Spread fi g jam on the top slices and close the sandwich.
  • Heat remaining butter in skillet over medium-low heat and add sandwiches. Cook until toast is golden-brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Cut each sandwich in half and serve.
